Well, first week and first book finished!!! We finished Philemon on Thursday night and have already started on the book of Titus. Its crazy how quickly things go by when your working and studying nonstop. I was really worried at first that it was going to take awhile for me to get back into study mode, but so far God has graced me with an ability to stay up with the rest of the class.
As we have been studying all week and haven't been able to really get out and see our surroundings they are taking us on a school trip to Simmons Town. Its about 20 min's or so from the base by car or train. Its a little further south on the cape. Something that I did not know was the fact that they have penguins here, which you would never guess by how warm it really is here. Any ways we are going to see them there and should have weather permitting a beautiful day.
I'm having a lot of fun trying to learn a few words in Afrikaans which is to my understanding the second most spoken language in South Africa. English though is the primary language and is used in all public settings. Im hopeing to get at least a few phrases down while I am here. It really is the language that most people here grow up speaking, English is just the most commonly understood among the many different languages in this wonderfully diverse nation.
Lekker Slopb (Good night)
P.S. If you are wanting to know how to send me things here in South Africa, here is my address:
Youth With A Mission
Chad Story
PO Box 129

South Africa
Please do not put what you got me anywhere on the box or envelope. If it is a box especially, please write on declaration that it is brownies or something that would not draw attention to it. I have been told to do this because people here are very desperate even those in customs. I am also told that people send packages all the time without problems....Love you all
